Mural is grateful for the trust that people place in our products, services, and experiences. These Trademark and Content Guidelines detail how you can help us protect Mural’s brand assets, including without limitation our logos, names, icons, designs, illustrations, videos, templates and other content available through the Services, and the trust and goodwill that they represent. Unless you have an express license from Mural, these guidelines will exclusively govern your use of our brand assets.
To help you understand what you can and can’t do with our brand assets, we have created this non-exhaustive list of Dos and Don’ts. Please review these additional tips to better understand how to use our brand assets. This list doesn’t cover every possible scenario, but does address some common questions.
Dos
Do truthfully convey information about your product or service, as well as our products and services.
Do use our brand assets exactly as we make them available.
Do follow our brand guidelines.
Do use our wordmark and product names as adjectives before nouns. For example:
Do use our brand assets less prominently than your own brand or company name (unless you have a written strategic partnership or similar agreement with Mural).
Don’ts
Don’t imply an affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship, certification, or approval with or by Mural (unless you have a written strategic partnership or similar agreement with us).
Don’t alter Mural brand assets in any way, for example and without limitation by combining them with other terms or logos, misspellings, animations, or other distortions.
Don’t use Mural brand assets as nouns or verbs (ex: muralling).
Don’t use Mural brand assets more prominently than your own brand assets.
Don’t use Mural brand assets in the name of your business (whether real or fictitious), product, service, or app.
Don’t use Mural brand assets in your domain name, tagline, slogan, logos, icons, illustrations, or social media account.
This section provides more information and guidance for Developers. Please see our Developer Addendum for more information.
Unless you have a written strategic partnership or similar agreement with Mural, everything about your Integration (including your Developer name and your Integration name, logo, description, screenshots, and other listing information) must be unique to you and free of Mural brand assets. The only exception is that you may truthfully state whether your Integration is compatible or interoperable with a Mural product or service within the text description about your Integration. You may not use Mural brand assets in a manner that falsely implies Mural published, developed, sponsored, endorsed, certified, reviewed, approved, is affiliated with, or is otherwise connected with or responsible for your Integration.

If you are authorized to use our brand assets in accordance with these guidelines, do include the following trademark disclosure to let others know that we own our brand assets:
The Mural name and logo are registered trademarks of Tactivos, Inc. d/b/a Mural in the United States and other countries.
We are frequently asked by users or researchers if they can use screenshots or images of Mural templates and other content developed within their instance of the Mural platform in their papers or other published works. Below is a suggested citation using APA format, based on the APA format for citing to PowerPoint slides. Ultimately it is your responsibility to determine what citation format is best for your published work, but hopefully this provides enough information to make an accurate citation.
Template author. (Year). Template title [template]. Mural. https://www.mural.co/.
