This statement constitutes the Modern Slavery Act statement of Mural for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2023.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labor, and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Mural is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain and imposes the same high standards on all of its contractors, suppliers and other business partners.
Mural is also committed to ensuring there is transparency in its own business and in the approach to tackling modern slavery throughout MURAL’s supply chains, consistent with its disclosure obligations under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
The United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act of 2015 requires certain companies to publish an annual statement of the steps taken to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not occurring in their business or supply chains. In compliance with its obligation under section 54 (1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, MURAL sets out the steps taken to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not occurring in its business or supply chains. We are committed to acting with integrity in all of our business relationships and maintaining and improving our systems and processes to avoid complicity in human rights violations related to our business operations, products and supply chains.
Tactivos, Inc. dba Mural is a Delaware corporation, headquartered in San Francisco, California. We have wholly owned subsidiaries in Argentina, Singapore, US and the UK. In the UK, we operate via our wholly owned subsidiary Mural Imagination Ltd. For the purposes of this statement, any reference to “Mural”, “we”, “us” or “our” is a reference to Tactivos, Inc. dba Mural and each of its subsidiaries and affiliates, as we uphold the values set out in this statement, regardless of geographic location.
Modern slavery and human trafficking are fundamental violations of human rights and abhorrent crimes. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and are committed to improving our practices to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking does not take place within our own business or in its direct and indirect supply chains.
We are a cloud-based “Software-as-a-Service” or “SaaS” company, meaning we offer subscriptions to our digital platform to which customers have access to through the internet. MURAL is centered around a digital whiteboard collaboration space, teams work together in real-time or asynchronously to unlock their genius with MURAL — taking insights and ideas from possibility to reality with the support of guided methods and transformation expertise.
We contract with a variety of companies and vendors to provide support for our business, from cloud infrastructure and video conferencing to software engineers. Modern slavery is generally not a material risk with the majority of these businesses. Our key suppliers are located in the US and Europe. Our key suppliers are typically in the fields of technology, data, equipment, and professional advisory & consulting services, which are typically low-risk sectors. We only use reputable providers of goods and services. We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking within our supply chain and if allegations or evidence of this occurs, we would immediately conduct an inquiry and take appropriate action (including seeking to terminate our relationship with the supplier and making a report to the relevant authorities where required).
Based on the geography of our supply chain, the sectors in which we operate, and the structure of our business, which provides software-as-a service to individuals and organizations, there is a low risk of slavery and human trafficking taking place within our supply chain. However, we remain vigilant against the risk of human trafficking and any form of slavery and take steps to assess and manage that risk.
MURAL complies with all applicable laws and regulations and is committed to preventing any form of modern slavery in our business. Our policies set forth our values and explain how those values impact the way we do business globally. As such, we have adopted various policies and/or implemented employee training on the following topics (this is by no means an exhaustive list but it gives an indication of the many initiatives taking place at MURAL):
Our policies require, among other things, that our officers, directors and employees do not engage in any unlawful and unethical activities while conducting our business or in performing their day-to-day duties at MURAL.
Our acceptable use policy (https://www.mural.co/terms/acceptable-use-policy) explains the types of content that are permitted and prohibited while using/accessing MURAL’s services.
We prohibit the following content from our platform:
Content that is defamatory, damaging, disruptive, unlawful, inaccurate, pornographic, vulgar, indecent, obscene, lewd, lascivious, profane, hateful, threatening, exploitative, violent, harassing, or otherwise offensive or objectionable; Content that incites, encourages or threatens immediate physical harm against others.
We have developed standards, processes, and procedures to review and monitor our internal policies and their implementation. We also have thorough due-diligence processes in place for all suppliers prior to entering into legally binding contracts to understand the nature of the supplier, the goods and services procured, and the risk a supplier may pose.
Additionally, we support an inclusive, open, and tolerant workplace environment and encourage personnel to raise concerns or report poor practice within MURAL and our suppliers. During onboarding and within our employee onboarding documents and handbooks, we encourage employees to report such incidents to the People team, management, compliance/legal team or through our third party reporting tool (either anonymous or not).
Approved by the Board of Directors of Tactivos Inc. d/b/a Mural and all subsidiaries respectively (Board approval date: 9/8/2022).
