This month, it’s all things Mural AI. AI is everywhere these days, which is why we’re doubling down on our dedication to delivering impactful AI solutions that help workers and teams innovate faster, align more easily, and work more creatively and efficiently.

A new hub to access all of our AI functionality in one place
Click the Mural AI button in the top toolbar to open the all-new hub. You’ll find all of our AI features in one place, like generating ideas, summarizing, clustering, and more. Think of the hub as your team’s everyday collaboration partner, enabling you to harness the power of AI in your day-to-day work to increase productivity and save time.
Converse with Mural AI using our new AI chat feature
Nestled within the hub is Mural’s new conversational AI chat feature. It uses a type of artificial intelligence called natural language processing that makes interactions with AI feel more familiar and intuitive, like an actual human conversation. It also helps our AI models understand the nuanced intent behind customer queries to provide more relevant AI outcomes on the canvas.
So, you might type something like, “Generate 10 ideas about planning an effective retrospective” into the chat panel to get started. The chat will recognize that you want to generate ideas and populate them into the canvas, and kindly remind you to review the output for accuracy.
From there, you can ask the chat to translate the ideas into another language, refine grammar or spell check, add emojis, cluster the ideas into topics, and so much more. Think of our AI chat as the generative assistant that works where and when you need it most.

Coming soon: Leverage AI to design your next collaborative session*
Coming to public preview in November, facilitators can use the new Build a mural feature to bridge the gap between a blank canvas and thoughtfully designed session. Using our AI chat, facilitators can quickly add information about their upcoming session, including pain points, goals, attendee information, and session duration. Mural AI, trained on both Mural and collaboration best practices, will look at these inputs and carefully suggest a first set of ordered templates to meet those needs and start the collaborative process. This saves hours of session ideation and preparation before the meeting.
From there, users can further refine their inputs or swap out templates altogether to make their session a success. Leveraging AI to do the heavy-lifting upfront enables teams to spend more time on the work — and outcomes — that matter.
Mural furthers our commitment to responsible AI by signing the EU AI Pact
Mural is the only company in the visual collaboration field to sign the European Union’s AI Pact. The EU Commission started this initiative to proactively help companies prepare for the implementation of the EU AI Act, the first comprehensive regulation on AI, to make sure AI is safe and trustworthy. This furthers our commitment to responsible AI practices including fairness, safety, privacy, and transparency.

Plan and organize your content with Mural’s smart planner
Elevate your next sprint review, PI planning, or retrospective using our smart planner feature, coming to full general availability next month on Business and Enterprise plans!
Say you’re building a planning board and assigning different status columns, like “Backlog,” “In Progress,” and “Done.” When you add tasks or tickets as sticky notes to each column, you can watch their status dynamically update as items are moved between columns. The metadata from the sticky notes is automatically updated and captured in the side info-panel.
Our smart planner is designed to handle any of your planning and organizational needs — column names are completely customizable, so it could be “Now, Next, Later,” “To Do, In Progress, Blocked,” or “Rose, Bud, Thorn” — to name a couple more examples.
When you connect the smart planner with an external data source like Jira or ADO with two-way sync, it creates an even more effective way to plan. As sticky notes are moved between columns, helpful information is captured on the info panel, and changes can then be pushed directly to Jira or ADO.
An improved mobile web browser experience
Users can now seamlessly create accounts, navigate workspaces, access their personalized dashboard, and access key features without the need for app installation, which brings us to feature parity with our mobile app.
